The last installment in the series to Chiang Rai 2012. Let’s go to the beach and let me tell you my final thoughts about Chiang Rai
Part 6 and the final installment of living or retiring in Chiang Rai.
Join me on my road trip and let’s see what Chiang Rai has to offer these days and whether a Category 1 RIPper could have a good life living there. We will check out some housing rental costs, interview an expat living in Chiang Rai and even go to the beach!
I will also give my final opinions about Chiang Rai and whether I feel that it is an option for retirees thinking about living in Northern Thailand.
Thailand has 76 states, so the cities within Thailand might have more people than the other but it’s easier to look at it by state or Jungwat.
The population of Thailand in 2011 is over 64,000,000 million citizens.
The population of Chiang Rai state or district (not city) is 1,198,218
Thailand doesn’t recognize Bangkok as a state, it’s considered a National Territory therefore there are really only 76 states in Thailand and Bangkok being the capital territory. Bangkok has 10,326,093 inhabitants registered as of 2010. The figure is probably at least 20% more than that if you include those not registered, illegals, and tourists.
