Pattaya – What are the daytime activities if you are living or visiting Pattaya? A day at the beach is relaxing and cheap.
But the best part is that it is cool. Even in summer the cool breeze come off the water. And there are always sights to see! See how cheap a day at the beach is.
Visually speaking, the beaches in Pattaya are not up to par compared to other places in Thailand. Pattaya is a very urban environment. You will find row after row of umbrellas and beach-chairs. Although people do swim, the water is rather polluted…how much is unclear….they say they have cleaned up the water a lot in the last few years and they have made marked of areas for people to swims.
Neighboring Jomtien beach about a 15 min. ride away looks to be more swimmer-friendly but there is the occasional road of of untreated sewage reported there from time to time and garbage thrown form the boats or someplace washes up on the beach occasionally. (This IS Thailand!).
Cozy beach and Sugar beach between Pattaya and Jomtien offer less crowded, chilled out alternatives. Realistically, wherever you are, most of the main holiday beaches in Thailand are subject to pollution from time to time depending on season wind and tides.
All the same, many people, locals and foreigners enjoy the beaches in and around Pattaya. All the beaches have plenty of people selling drinks and snacks etc. so you won’t go hungry or thirsty. Indulge yourself and have a fresh coconut and savor the coconut water inside….very refreshing and high in electrolytes!
