Well, Nat and I are taking a short break from camping to go to Chiang Mai which is one of our favorite places to visit in Thailand and holds a lot of nostalgia for me having lived there for about nine years.

Were recharging our batteries both figuratively and literally! And while we’re in town I’m going to meet a member that I’ve never met. I have met his wife though! Maybe you remember a video I did a long time ago. At the end of 2011 I did a video titled “How About a Brand New Two-story Home in Chiang Mai for US$500?” where I got the chance to talk to Gif who was overseeing the finishing of the construction. The video was about the home of Darryl and Gif. They were building the house so that they could come to Thailand and retire. In the meantime they were going to rent it out to get some income. Well guess what? Darryl and Gif are now living in Thailand full-time. Darryl at 53 has retired in Thailand!

So we’re gonna sit down and have a conversation and you can join in and listen. I want to ask him about his expectations of retirement living in Thailand, whether or not being here has lived up to them and whether or not he has regrets about either bringing something or not bringing something to Thailand for his retirement. We will also see how Gif feels about returning back to her home country to live full-time.
