Why do you want to become an expat living in Thailand? There are a lot of answers you could give to that question. I can guess that more than half of the answers would come from wanting to change the feelings about something in our lives we no longer want to feel. That is opposed to all the positive things that we can get by living in someplace like Thailand as a retiree.

Yes you can retire cheap in Thailand and that is sort of a given these days. At least cheaper than back home and a better life as well. A long time viewer of my YouTube channel passed on a link to an article from the publication Psychology Today. https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/evolutionary-psychiatry/201307/zoo-humans In the article they talk about what happens when animals are put into a zoo. What is interesting is the correlation between the health maladies that animals like gorillas are facing in their caged environments and the same maladies humans are facing in their daily lives. When we compare what causes the challenges to primates health living in zoos and the causes of the challenges now facing a lot of people’s health back in their own countries the similarities are striking.

It appears on many levels, and in many cases, that human beings have now become zoo humans. The funny thing about this is that they are also the zookeepers. They put themselves in the zoo and can take themselves out if they wanted to. It seems to me that many want to move to Thailand as a way to get themselves out of their own zoos.
I think the viewer, Greg, who passed this article on to me said it very well when he said, ” I suspect the effect results from something beyond just diet, and likely the Human social condition, and our more “Advanced” minds and emotional states, and may go a ways to explaining why escaping our Human ‘Zoo Cages’ of obligation, toil and anger usually increases lifespan, mental and emotional health.”
So my advice is to check whether you have put yourself into a life of being a human in a zoo and what you can do to set yourself free. If your freedom lies in someplace like Thailand maybe I can help in some way in your journey of freedom.
